Technological Background
LoginWall technology is based on two factor authentication: "something the user knows” (keyboard characters) and "something the user does" (pause on or between keys). In today's computers, just one authentication factor isn’t enough to protect the user’s privacy. Computers have the ability to "know" or at least find out-- everything the user knows. That is why, with conventional passwords, it doesn't take long for the computer to succeed and "know" the password's characters.
LoginWall adds the second factor, "something the user does", without using any special devices. The user selects a password that includes a few characters AND the timing information.
The greatest advantage the computer has over humans is the speed. By integrating a factor based on human typing pace as one of the password attributes, we take away the computer’s superiority. Any program that might attempt to decode the time sensitive information in the password will be forced to slow down and operate at a human pace. The time required to break down a password becomes hundreds, thousands, or even millions of times longer.
The combination of these two factors makes LoginWall the most secure system in the world for creating keyboard-based passwords.
How Does the Time Factor Work?
LoginWall gives the user a choice of possibilities, combining two time properties:
A timed pause can be added ON each character, or IN-BETWEEN characters , or --the best possibility-- a COMBINATION of both (COMBO). Because there are so many possible combinations, just by using LoginWall, even with only one pause, you will have a password that is so much more powerful than a regular password. Of course, in an actual attack, having multiple time-sensitive properties in your password will make it more difficult for a hacker or a software program to break the code. That is why it is always better to set as many time frames as possible.
The LoginWall Advantages for the Next Electronic Generation
The world is heading towards full connectivity mode, meaning that any electronic device will have the ability to communicate with other devices or with the Internet. This will require the development of higher security levels which do not rely on additional computational force. The fact that your watch will have the ability to communicate with your refrigerator shouldn't mean that the watch needs to include a big expensive processor just to protect this connectivity.
LoginWall protects all the Internet and Intranet connected devices and keeps them secure without using heavy firewalls or software programs.

"Passwords have proved themselves a worthy opponent: all who have attempted to replace them have failed. It is fair to say that little progress has been made in the last 20 years: usability has degraded significantly, while security has not improved."(Microsoft, 2011)
