FAQ
Q: Will all the user names and passwords be stored only on the LoginWall server?
A: No, not only. You will also receive all the usernames and the passwords (characters only--without the time attributes) to your database. The data could be used without LoginWall service if you should decide to leave LoginWall services or if something happened to our servers.
Q: What happens if your server crashes?
A: Our servers are hosted at Amazon, which has declared a 99.9% availability. In our manual you can find a code that you can use to check if our servers are online. In case our servers are not online (down), you should redirect the user to your login page and use the user name and the password from your database. You must ensure that your login page works only when our servers are down. As you know from our manual, you will receive the passwords from our servers during the users’ sign up process and you should save the passwords without time attributes.
Q: What about the passwords of my current users? What happens to their passwords when I install LoginWall?
A: your current users will be able to continue using their existing passwords, but these will be much better protected. LoginWall provides extra protection against brute force attacks, not only for new users but also for the older, existing passwords. A user that didn’t sign up with LoginWall will be redirected to your server with an authentication code. With this authentication code you will be able to retrieve the user name and password from our servers and verify that this user exists in your database. Users who did sign up with LoginWall but typed in the password incorrectly will not be redirected to your server.
Q: Can a Loginwall password be saved in a browser?
A: No, we do not want to take that risk. LoginWall is the most secure way to log in to any internet account. Saving a password in the user’s browser is exactly the kind of security risk that everyone wants to avoid. That’s why LoginWall passwords, which are shorter than regular passwords, provide the perfect solution. Your users will be grateful to have such a short password, and the browser save option will become irrelevant.
Q: Why doesn’t the LoginWall password allow users to choose the same character one after the other?
A: The LoginWall time attribute will make it very convenient --in fact too convenient-- to use the same character for the whole password. By eliminating this possibility, LoginWall ensures that users choose a strong password. It’s always better to be safe than sorry!
Q: How much more secures is LoginWall compared to the standard password?
A: As shown in our password calculator, LoginWall will enhance your protection by approximately one million.
Q: Why do you think that we need to use LoginWall password?
A: In order to secure your users’ privacy, you have to use the most advanced technology. Your users will appreciate your website and will rely on your system much more when they will know that you are doing the best to protect them.
Q: Why is LoginWall good for users?
A: LoginWall lets your users choose shorter passwords with greater protection! One of the most common complaints made by Internet users is the necessity to remember many complicated passwords. LoginWall makes it possible to choose and remember ONLY ONE SHORT password, which is stronger than all the old style passwords.
Q: Why does it become unnecessary to block users when using LoginWall?
A: Today users are usually blocked from entering a website if they submitted a wrong password several times in a row. Websites use the “block users” option as a safeguard, to avoid the risk that the wrong passwords were entered not by the user but by a brute force attack.
The LoginWall password is brute force attack proof, so there is no need to be afraid of brute force attacks anymore. With a LoginWall password, your users can make mistakes when typing in or trying to remember the password --without the frustration of being blocked from their accounts.
Q: Does LoginWall technology work for file encryption?
Yes, we are working on a collaboration project to provide higher password security also for the purpose of file protection.
Q: Does LoginWall supply solutions also for other platforms?
Yes, LoginWall technology is very appropriate for use in M2M communication, smart grid protection, protection of automobile computer systems and of course for Wi-Fi router passwords.
Q: Could I combine LoginWall technology as part of the OEM technology in my product?
Yes, integrating LoginWall in any product that requires Web protection is highly recommended. Please contact us for further details.

"Passwords have proved themselves a worthy opponent: all who have attempted to replace them have failed. It is fair to say that little progress has been made in the last 20 years: usability has degraded significantly, while security has not improved."(Microsoft, 2011)
